Resolution problems with WINDVR
The problem I have is that I can't capture vhs with a low resolution. When I want to capture to 352x288 mpeg2, I get 720x288. When I want 352x576 mpeg2 I get 720x576. I even got 768x288 mpeg1 when I wanted 352x288 mpeg1.
My TV-card bestbuy has the bt878 chip, though I installed later the btwincap universal drivers, which have put in my system (Windows xp, p4 2.6, 1gb ram) a pair of inputs so called conexant's bitpci wdm.
If I capture in mpeg2 with the program honestech included with my tv-card, everything goes out correctly, though I don't like the quality.
If I capture in avi (with iuvcr or others) everything goes out correctly.
Therefore so much the problem is in windvr and....
This program (windvr) captures and codifies, for me, greatly, so that I ask you for some suggestion that could help me.
Thank you in advance
Hi!
Although I don't own this software, I took a quick look at the InterVideo home page for it. Are you sure you don't have to set it specifically for either quot;VCDquot; mode or quot;SVCDquot; mode?
It's hard to believe that an $80US program would be this ill-behaved regarding such a basic function...
Yes, I am sure. You can set it in mpeg1, mpeg2, vcd, svcd or dvd modes (pal, ntsc, others ...).
At any case, I said in my previous post that I have tried with vcd pal and I got a 768x288 resolution.
Somebody else had this problem. Look at this:

That posting is 3 1/2 years old! It's really hard to believe that, had it actually been a quot;bugquot;, the folks at InterVideo wouldn't have fixed it during all this time - and it's likewise hard to believe they'd be able to continue selling such a basically flawed product.
I'd sooner believe that there's something in the documentation of your purchased software that you've either misinterpreted or overlooked - such as confusing quot;custom settings' for playback with settings available for capture.
At the InterVideo website, the following is indicated regarding recording capabilties of WinDVD 3:RECORDING FUNCTIONS
DV, VCD, SVCD And DVD Compatible File Output
WinDVR 3 lets you save your favorite shows as DV (digital video), VCD (video compact disk), SVCD (super video compact disk) and DVD files.
For this, and additional information about WinDVR, download this.PDF file, which also was readily available from the same site:

I have the win Dvr software and you set the capture to Good better or best also a customised mode(this can be anything you want nearly) whereby you set all the params yourself. This is set when you schedule the recording. ANd dont believe about flaws in software they can run and run.. Its actually reasonable for what it does but the EPG function is utterly and completely ****.
nd it's likewise hard to believe they'd be able to continue selling such a basically flawed product.
WINDOWS!!
@Wolfman
How can you seriously compare WinDVR, that competes with DOZENS of similar programs to Windows?
I can assure you that, if WinDVR contained such a basic flaw that continued uncorrected, it would be a failed product that would disappear from the face of the Earth - as users of such software would turn to the many competing programs instead... |
