I'm not very familiar with the program of which you speak, but I'm pretty sure that when you save it as an .mds file, the .iso is generated in the same directory.  An .mds file isn't going to contain the image, it's simply a reference to the image file.

Hi!

Are you saying that the option to create an .ISO image file or .BIN file are not available from within the program - or are you saying that after using the program to save an .ISO image file you're unable to find that file and only find a small quot;.MDSquot; file?

the options are not available in the prog itself. I've never seen this before

1) Try UNinstalling the program, rebooting (cautionary), REinstalling the program, and then rebooting again (cautionary)

2) Does your wife's computer have the same O/S as yours?

Did you ever try creating the .mds file and look in the directory for the .iso?

Seems a bit silly to me that Alcohol would even produce bin/cue files.

They have their own file format - MDF/MDS - and it's far better.

yes the wifes computer is exactly the same as mine, and i have tried reinstalling it and other versions  of alcohol, all unsuccessful.
and lightning uk, i do and love using the mds file format, it's just i would like to burn using other programs than alcohol, and alcohol is the program i use to make images, and since i don't have another prog that can burn mds files, that is why i want to know

Sounds like it's time to swap computers with your wife ;gt;}
