How would I decode a DivX or Xvid file to the raw .avi?

Edit: It's refusing to open DivX files. It opens Xvid files, but I haven't tested decrypting them yet.

I do, at least it works for WMP/VLC...I also have FFDShow. What else can I try?

Go to and get the DivX codec

If you don't want to use the DivX codec for whatever reason (?) you could also serve the video using AVISynth's DirectShowSource function.

Doesn't it come with spyware that when you remove it, doesn't let divX work? Oh well, intsalling...
