maxell DVD ID Ritek G05 dvd-r reliable? sony, dvd, performers, getting, without

I Heard Ritek GFo5 are relable discs and so are maxells
but the maxells i purchased are id labled ritek g05

I have been using Sony discs ID labled as sony on my sony DRU-810A drive
and have been getting 4 of 25 coasters with halos on the dvd after burned
where glitches in playback occur

Are Ritek g05 discs better performers then sonys ?
of the sonys that burned without glitches all stiil work today about 1 year later
Does anyone know if the G05 s are as reliable or should i return them before using any at all?  they were only 14 dollars a 25 pack but i dont want to make backups that will not wk in a year?

A while back, there were MANY postings (at MANY forums) indicating that Ritek G05s were very problematic
