Footage blending depending on FPS amp; Decimate
I need some help with my script to prevent blending. When I render footage in Vegas, depending on my FPS in my script and wether I add Decimate or not and depending on what framerate I set it for in Vegas, I'll either get blending or I wont when I render a video in Vegas. I really don't understand the reasons what causes this blending. Maybe it's a bug with Vfapi, I'm not sure.. Oh and also I'm using a lot of scripts in Vegas and that could be one of the things determining wether certain scenes blend or not. Any help getting me to understand this very much appreciated!
There's no blending bug in DGVfapi.
It's all determined by the incoming framerates and what you set in Vegas. If they are all the same, nothing will get blended. If Vegas thinks it needs to convert the rate of anything, it will use blending to do it. If you are unsure of the frame rates delivered by your scripts, serve them into VirtualDub and look at File/Information.
Alright thanks for mentioning that. Yeah, if I put decimate in half my footage, and don't put it in the other half, them most likely when I render the video about half of the video will get blending.
One thing though that seems awkward is that in the beginning of my timeline I have an akira scene that looks fine when looking at it in Vegas, but when I render it no matter what settings I use for some reason it still blends.. but later on in the video after it shows a lot of footage from other anime sources, there's a scene with akira again, but I don't notice any blending.. Oh well, I'll try looking into things a bit more and see what could explain that.
Looks like I'm going to have to redo a lot of my project since when I convert the footage to certain frames per second, it moves my footage around, so I have to rearrange them. Now next time I start a project, I'll make sure to have all the footage I'm using has the same framerate going so I don't get blending again. Well thanks I think I've figured this all out.
Well since I have to use the same framerate for each DVD, what would the recommendation be to set it at for all of them? What would be more preferable to set it at? 23.976, 24fps, 29.970fps? |
