Anyone tried to backup (MENU) of LOST???

When running numenu4u on a LOST DVD, it doesn't work... it give no  errors but when using the new menu in the structure, it doesn't do that it should do. (ex. when selecting 'bonus' and it goes to 'bonus' en then selecting 'main', ok it goes there, but then i can select buttons, but it seems it haves no links...)

I've seen also on the original dvd with pgcedit that it gives warnings, quot;the SPRM highlighted menu button number is out of range...quot; example butt 5 and there are just 4 buttons... ok no prob, it selects then normally the 1e.

Also an error in PGCEDIT on orig dvd; warning; there are 12 discrepancies in some VMGM/VTSI_MAT Tables. Do you want fix them???? what does this really mean.???

So i've compiled the menu (with numenu4u) and put it in the rest (proper) and when running it... i have black menu's with one NOP button... Also a message warning that i can see with PGCEdit and it begins... quot;WARNING: PgdEdit has detected 2 sets of buttons in this cell...quot;

i've also compiled/ran through numenu4u 3 times and also with DVD2 and same problems...

Anyone an idea

@Zeul; i'll sent you the files... (with log enabled  )
Using numenu4u 2.0.23 and pgcedit 062

Looks like this LOST dvd has some original authoring errors. I will have a look at the files you have sent me, but, original authoring errors are not something i expect to see.

Don't put too much time in it... i'll needed it urgently and used now dvdshrink on the menu en stripped the other lang en keeped eng... and works fine...

Thanks....

Maybe there will be come more and more dvd's out with this (protection)

I will look anyway in case of a more serious bug - so please don't delete any files yet. Thanks

This is real fubar menu. A lot of the vobids have dummy subs before the real menu subs. Intros into the menu pages i would think. But there is no reason to have a blank sub (with no buttons either). As far as i can see everything has been replicated exactly. Due to problems with importing scripts into scenarist, (you can't have highlights in the middle of a cell when there are subs before the highlight - isn't scenarist wondefull). So a dummy highlight is created by NuMenu, so the proper highlight is correctly aligned.
All the subs have a display contrast of 0, however, the select/action highlights colors look correct - but you say you have a black menu (this suggests not).
Could you clarify which menus(ie the actual vobid) look black and which ones have no links.

I am assuming that you are referring to LOST Season 1 Disc 1 US Version. If so there is no need to re-encode this menu, if you strip VOBID 21 using IFOEdit it will strink down from 526MB to 87.9MB. VOBID 21 is a 10min blank, PGCEdit would shown you that. If you look at the rest of the discs in the boxset you will see the menus are around 50-70MB.

I hope this disc doesn't give you the same trouble with the subs that I have here.

Good luck.

I have the german Lost Season 1 Box here. The first time I have tried to backup the menu an stripped ALL 'black' assets out. Guess what: Menu didnt work.
So I have tried another round with leaving all the black assets and just stripping out french and dutch menus. And it works.

Can't comment on German version but US version works fine without the 1 blank in it.

I suspect these black assets have some automated buttons. Removing them upsets the flow.

When there are automated buttons then NuMenu does not show them.
I forwarded through every black asset but there do not appear any buttons.

What is you siumply replace the black video by a dummy of 1 sec or so?
