Removing audio track references?

Is it possible to remove references of removed audio tracks without re-authoring, so they can not be selected while playing a DVD?

You can do that with IFOEdit. You need to modify the VIDEO_TS.IFO (if it also contains the reference tracks) and the IFO that contain the VTS (VTS_0X_0.IFO).

How can I do this with IFOEdit? I don't see an easy way to remove existing tracks from IFO files.Originally Posted by mp3domYou can do that with IFOEdit. You need to modify the VIDEO_TS.IFO (if it also contains the reference tracks) and the IFO that contain the VTS (VTS_0X_0.IFO).
For VTS_0X_0.IFO:
Go to the VTS_MAT section and locate the quot;Video attributes of VTSTT_VOBSquot; Here you can change the number of audio streams in the VTSTT_VOBS. Change this value and then go down throughout the quot;Aud_X: Attributesquot;. Double Click and reset all the data (App Mode Unspecified, Language Not Specified, Config Mode Dolby AC-3, Sample 48K, Quantisation 16bps, Extension Unspecified, Language Type Not specified, multichannel xtension Not present and Channels = 1).
You need to do this to all the unreferenced audio.
This method works only if you have all real audio and then the unreferenced audio.

You can do it easily with PgcEdit, too.

Go to your PGC, and open the PGC Editor.  Click on the audio track you want to remove and select disable.  Repeat for all PGCs in the domain.
Then, right click on any PGC of the domain, and select quot;Domain Streams Attributesquot;.  PgcEdit will detect that a stream is defined but never used in the PGCs, and will offer to remove it.  Accept and save.

Of course, that works only if the stream you want to remove is the last one in the list.  If you want to remove a stream in the middle, you have to shift the references of all subsequent audio streams, in the PGCs and in the domain streams attributes.
You will probably also have to fix the SetSTN commands.

@r0lZ

This is something I have been meaning to ask for sometime.

Disabling audio/subbie tracks in PgcEdit after removing them is a breeze when the VTS contains only 1 title.  But if you have stripped a VTS with many titles, it is very hard to get rid of them as you need to disable for each and every title.

Is it possible to do a disable for all titles in a VTS (at the user's request)?  Of course, it is the user's risk if he has stripped only 1 title.

Another thought is a faster way to disable.  Most times, I just want to keep audio and subbie streams 0 and want to disable the rest.  How about something like a multiple stream disable (like the way it is done in remove cells)?  That would be very handy.

With thanks.

Noted.
I can do something to remove an audio stream directly from the Domain Streams Attributes dialogue.  The streams assignments in the PGCs will be removed (and shifted if needed) automatically.
I have to find some time to do it, though...

Beautiful - look forward to this valuable new feature.

or you could just set the PUOPs in the movie not to allow it...probably the easiest and simplest way

The latest PgcEdit beta implements this nicely w/o P-ops Ron.

yes I know...I use it all the time without worry about audio remapping!!!!  Older versions did too...
