3GP container and video codec

Not sure if this is the right forum but..

In my web searching I see that 3GP supports MPEG4 or H263 video for use in cell phone video playback....but there are MANY parts to MPEG4 so I'm wondering if anyone knows what part of MPEG4 to use?

I mea..can I use x264 and make a vid to play in my cell phone, or do I have to use xvid...etc etc.

I think I understand that I will have to encode audio into AAC Low Complexity and then mux with mp4box to create a .3gp or .3g2 file

afaik most mobile phones can only handle MPEG4 Simple Profile (mostly level 0 and 1) + amr or aac audio,.... =gt; xvid with the right Profile should work

thanks

2 pass xvid + aac-lc should be great

I owned a Samsung E730. It seems to be able to play MP4 SP@level 3 and aac @44100Hz.
