NTSC 2 PAL with AC3 out of sync...Guru's help needed

Ok, I give up.....

Have searched the forums for an answer to this one, all to no avail
Is it possible to get the AC3 audio from an NTSC souce to be in sync when converting to a PAL mpeg stream using dvd2svcd ?

Any advice appreciated

normally when converting from Ac3 the sound is out of sync by 200ms so first try this:- click on the BBmpeg tab then at the bottom click the BBmpeg output settings amp; at the bottom of this screen add 200ms to the standard setting in the audio1 tab e.g the standard setting for SVCD is 180ms so add 200ms to that gives you 380ms, normally adding this delay of 200ms works sometimes you may need to add a higher or lower delay but this comes from experience, don't forget to change the setting back to it's default setting afterwards. Also use the recover option to save re-encoding the whole movie again.

Cheers for that m8
Will give it a try

No problem, let me know if it works.

Tried amp; failed

Does this shed any light on the issue ?

I've tried to convert a single chapter.... audio is always way out, (i.e. audio is always behind the video) have changed audio settings, then video settings... same result...

when converting amp; using mpeg audio, sync is bang on... Anyone got any ideas why AC3 is such a problem ?

Cheers

In another thread (I forgot which, use the search function) I found an answer when I had the same problem.
Maybe you only converted video to PAL and then took the audio from NTSC, which I did:-(...
Try to use AC3Machine and Besweet from Dspguru and convert your NTSC AC3 to PAL AC3.
I hope this helps...Heinrich
