, but I noticed the same thing. Mind you the source I am encoding is a TV show, but it's a new release (alias season 4) and it *should* be detecting it as film. Is there any problems with the GOP set at 12-2?
J-Wo I asked this question recently (do a search on 12-2 and autogop) and was referred to several threads where it was discussed that gt;12-2 might result in a non-DVD-compliant output. Since I asked that question I noticed my TMPGEnc encoder also defaults to 12-2, and maybe one other.
In any case, yes, DVD-RB set to quot;Use encoder defaultquot; results in 12-2 with HC and not Autogop as you might expect. But it should not be a problem for your encodes that I can tell anyway.
Here's that thread
12-2 would be the correct default for a Film source.
ya actually I think I was a bit wrong. I was during the OPV sizing prediction (using HC) that I noticed the 12-2 GOP, but during the actual encode it showed up as Film. Regardless I don't think there are any problems, just something I noticed. |
